Hi, I’m Emil!

I am the current Year 4C Academic Representative, and it’s an absolute pleasure to be running to be your MUMUS President in 2025!

So, what is this all about?

Going through medical school has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life, and I feel so thankful to the people that I’ve met along the way.

I’ve spent the last three years on MUMUS, and I’ve seen the incredible changes that we can achieve together.

That being said, there is work to be done, and I believe I have the determination, mindset and experiences to make it happen.

My Vision

Transparency

You deserve to be kept in the loop.

For MUMUS, this means:

  • Presidential updates about MUMUS’ events and initiatives.

  • Reducing spam in year level facebook groups, so that you’re aware of the opportunities are available to you.

For faculty, this means:

  • Transparency on important issues such as assessments, internship allocation and placement preferences.

  • Advocating for earlier placement allocation dates.

  • Streamlining assessment marking across assessors and placement sites.

Advocacy

Medicine isn’t easy.

MUMUS plays an incredibly important role in advocating for all of us.

As president, I will be on the front lines, hearing your opinions and striving for equity

  • Continuing the inclusion of Year A & Postgraduate students in all events.

  • Supporting international student initiatives, such as the international students night.

  • Empowering the Diversity Consulting Committee to advocate for medical students of all backgrounds.

Gains

Getting the basics right.

MUMUS’ social and academic calendar is an unmissable part of medical school.

I’m here to make sure this keeps being done well.

Listening to your opinions about what makes high quality, inclusive and fun social events will be a priority.

Leading the academic team & subcommittees to produce high yield revision content, organising the MUMUS drive and allowing your to pass with ease.

I’m committed to finding the small wins that take MUMUS even further.

Other jobs, like being a receptionist and tutor!

One last word for you…

I value your time, and I like to keep things short and sweet. It’s my commitment to giving back to others, initiative and approachability that make me a strong candidate for President.

Throughout medical school, I have tried my best to make the changes that truly make a difference. This has always been informed by your opinions, and I have genuinely loved meeting so many of you.

It would be an honour to continue this journey with you all in 2025.

Thank you so much.
